Great spot to get some food and drinks.  The outside deck is my favorite part.  Great for days when the weather is right.

I have had a lot of different food and drinks options here.  Some of my favorite things are the burgers, spinach dip and wings.  My last time there inhad the black and bleu burger which was a little over cooked, but still very good.  On Sunday they have a great brunch buffet with really good frozen mimosas.  Really fun place overall.

So... how do I rate Shiloh?? This is tough. The server was super nice. The food actually tasted mostly good, when we finally got it.

Here's the problem... we had a reservation for 6 people at 7:30 pm on a Tuesday night.  We were seated right away. But... omg... who was running the kitchen?!!?????

1 HOUR to receive our food.  One. Hour. How is it even possible to BE that slow.  The restaurant was not packed at all. We were surrounded by mostly empty tables.

    We ordered very simple items.

    Pierogies
    Mac n cheese
    Tater tots
    Quesadilla
    2 delmonico sandwiches

We filled up on the baskets of bacon as we awaited our food. I love bacon as much as the next pork lover... but even I had my fill of bacon and just wanted my actual food. My poor kid fell asleep at the table cuz we were waiting so long!?!

The server really did his best to try to keep us from exploding.  Or just walking out.

But when the food finally arrived, none of us had any silverware.  One friend didnt get his food, so the rest of us let our food get cold as we awaited his order. The ranch dressing didnt come out til we were finished w our tots. The mac n cheese was TOO cheesy. And the tots were too salty.

We had to remind our server that we still needed silverware, my friend's quesadilla, and to please refill his water cup that he took from him and placed atop the table next to us!?!!

I did get the free bowl of chili w yelp check in at the beginning.  So I tried to eat that, and offered to share it w my table... but it wasnt any good.

So... as an out of towner, would I come back to Shiloh again?

Probably not.  There are a lot of offerings in the area who hopefully have better kitchen staff so the food gets out to patrons in a more reasonable time frame.

** what really chaps my hide is when mgmt doesmt care enough to acknowledge a glaringly big problem such as this.**

I'm being VERY generous w 3 stars; I def rounded up.

A fine place to get a meal or drink while atop Mount Washington. I took family from out of town to Shiloh Grill as a place to eat before strolling Mt Washington to show off the glorious view of the City of Pittsburgh.

Menu is pretty typical salads and sandwiches and burgers. I went with the "Pittsburgh" steak salad which is a pretty a basic salad with French fries on it. As far as "Pittsburgh" salads go, this was pretty weak, with only like 6 or 7 fries on it. Asked for medium cooked steak and what I got was definitely more on the medium rare/rare range.

My wife got the bacon cheeseburger and seemed less than enthused about it. Though she did really enjoy the build-your-own mule menu and was pleased with the combination she concocted.

I will also say that between ordering from our waiter and overhearing a different table talk to their waiter, there were several items on the menu that they did not have. Don't know if this was something that happens a lot or a one-off.

Shiloh Grill was fine, definitely not horrible, but expected a little more.

Wonderful food, staff, atmosphere. We had kids with us too and they loved it. The impossible burger was delicious and we got pierogis for an appetizer. We loved the names and descriptions too. I absolutely recommend!

Thankfully Linda, our server, gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted. The menu is worth reading cover to cover, even if you don't order anything! It's right off Grandview Ave and a hilly 1-mile walk from the Duquesne Incline, so order something that will stick to your ribs. I got the Labor-inducing chili, which has a cumin-like kick to it and also the Garden Weaver sandwich. I don't know if it will fit into a Prius' cup holder, but I somehow managed to eat it all. It was served with a side of homemade chips and French onion dip. Just what I needed after taking in the sights on a damp October evening.
